Melawi Profile

Melawi regency is one of the regencies in West Kalimantan located between the lines 07' - 1020 ' south latitude and 1117' - 11227 ' east longitude. Melawi area has a total area of 10640.80 Km and has seven sub-regencies with Nanga Pinoh as its capital. Melawi is one of the newly formed regency that is on May 21, 2004 by the Minister of Internal Affairs Letter No. 135/1213 / SJ. Although it is a relatively new regency, but the growth experienced by this regency is quite fast. Within a few years this area has been able to balance themselves with other regencies were first formed.

Sarai Waterfall is located in the region including PT.Rafi, Tembawang Panjang, Lintah sub district. We can reach this place with a distance of over 20 km trip. If the weather is sunny, we can use vehicles such as motorcycles or cars up to a distance of about 15 km. Next we have to travel by foot about 1 hour for the next service does not allow vehicles to go further. Vehicles can be deposited on the citizens. Air and the atmosphere was still awake from vehicle pollution makes this place into a recreational area suitable for calming the mind. Fatigue will be replaced after arriving in this place.

Ntoba Waterfall is located in Nyanggai Village,South Nanga Pinoh,Melawi Region. we can reach this place for about 1-1,5 hours from the village center on foot. The place is surrounded trees,having clear water which is fresh. It makes this place very suitable to serve as an attractive tourist asset. Rocks that have been arranged naturally,can be used to play rafting.

Batu Buil is located in Pemuar,Belimbing sub-district. Actally, I do not really understand the origin of the name of this place. Although its name is 'batu' or 'rock' but there we will not find the charm of nature with its main object is the stone. There is a river that size is not too big but also not so small which presented quite beautiful scenery. 
These locations are around the area of oil pal plantations and surrounded by hills.

Tenggaras Waterfall is located in Landau Beringin Village. 

To reach this place would spend about 1,5-2 hours guided by a local guide

 because the place is still not too publicized and the trips to reach this place should go through footpath.

The Best Spot for Fishing. There are some areas that become an excellent spot for fishing. This place is still 'pure' may one of the reason that the fishes that are available have the quantity and quality which do not disappoint for those who enjoyed fishing.
